in the
summer months try and use the heating once a month for
30 mins. this stops components that are not used for a
few months of summer from sticking |
 |
check the feed and expansion ball valve (header tank) by
pushing down on it during the summer months. Due to the
warm temperature in the loft this ball valve often gets
stuck |
 |
if
you need to bleed your radiators always make sure the
heating and hot water are turned off on the clock. if
the boiler and the pump are on,you could actually draw
air into the radiator circuit!! |
 |
if
your gas oven does not work check that the auto cook
button has not been pressed (a lot of call out to
cookers is because of this simple mistake) |
 |
turning your room thermostat and hot water thermostat
down 2 degrees will save on your fuel bills |
 |
adding thermostatic radiator valves to you radiators
makes your heating more efficient |
 |
flushing through your radiators and removing the black
sludge(iron oxide deposits) makes your heating more
efficient. see power flushing for details |
 |
in
winter months especially in really cold spells leave
your loft hatch open a couple of inches to allow warm
air into the loft to stop pipes from freezing |
 |
all
water and heating pipes installed in lofts or under the
floorboards on the ground floor should be lagged |
 |
de
scaling your shower head will improve the flow rate
through it |
